Hi there, and welcome to the official blog for Best In Show! I’m Gino DelCiancio also know as the GMan or as G. I’ve been a car enthusiast, for a longtime as far as I can remember. I’ve always love classic and hot rods and now an author.
Whether you’ve just picked up the book or are just discovering this site, I’m excited to have you here.
A Lifetime on the Show Field
For over 40 years, I’ve been competing in car shows across the country. Along the way, I’ve learned what it really takes to turn heads, win trophies, and—most importantly—take pride in a job well done. From humble beginnings with my first show car to winning over 200 awards, every experience taught me something new.
And now, I’m sharing it all with you.
Why I Wrote Best In Show
When I first started, there wasn’t a manual on how to really prepare a car for show judging. I learned through trial, error, and conversations in parking lots and car pits. I’ve always believed that excellence is in the details—and now I want to pass on the techniques, tools, and mindset that helped me succeed.
Best In Show is part memoir, part how-to. It’s filled with stories from my journey, but also packed with practical tips—from deep cleaning engine bays to choosing the right tire shine. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, there’s something in it for you.
